The T-SPOT®.COVID test is intended for qualitative detection of a cell mediated (T cell) immune response to SARSCoV-2 in human whole blood.
The T-SPOT®.COVID test is intended for use as an aid in identifying individuals with an adaptive, or acquired, immune response to SARS-CoV-2, specifically the T cell response. This test could be used alongside serology tests to support clinical assessment of individuals, for example who present with suspected COVID-19 but are PCR negative and is complementary to serology.
The T-SPOT®.COVID test summary:
· The T-SPOT®.COVID test is the first COVID-19 test for use in the detection of a T cell-mediated response to SARS-CoV-2 infection.
· The T-SPOT®.COVID test is proven to detect evidence of a T cell-mediated immune response to SARS-CoV-2 infection in PCR positive patients with negative serology test results.
· T-SPOT®.COVID test results, complemented by serology (antibody) results, may give a more comprehensive view of an individual’s immune response to SARS-CoV-2. Using both T cell and serology give an incremental diagnostic yield.
