About Me

‘Treating patients, not symptoms”

I have always been passionate about herbs and healing since a very young age and brought up in a family that follows the traditional Ayurveda system of healing. I pursued my love of science and healing by studying Pharmacy at Leicester University.

I have been practicing pharmacy for over two decades and felt that the conventional model of restoring health back to patient just wasn’t working, and in fact the patient seems to get worse on long term medications.

Our society is experiencing a sharp increase in number of people who suffer from complex chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart diseases, cancer, mental illness, autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis etc. and still rising.

Conventional health care is rooted on rapid diagnosis and pharmaceutical intervention or surgery that aims to treat the immediate problem or suppression of symptoms without addressing the root causes. Physicians spend about 7 minutes per patient and they leave with a prescription or further investigation. It is ill equipped to address the complex chronic diseases and does not take into account the unique genetic make up of each individual and does not allow time for exploring the aspects of todays lifestyle such as stress, diet nutrition and toxins.

We are in the 21st century with no sign of halting the tsunami of complex chronic diseases.

I feel that the current medical schools in UK do not adequately train physicians or pharmacists to neither assess the underlying causes of complex chronic diseases nor to apply strategies such as nutrition, diet and exercise (even though well documented in its benefits) to both treat and to prevent these illnesses in patients.

I went to train as a Classical Homeopath the way Samuel Hahnemann the founder of Homoeopathy practiced in his ‘Organon of Medicine” which addressed many symptoms of chronic diseases. He wrote few volumes on chronic diseases and elaborated its root causes were based on suppression of illness through drugs, surgery blood letting. He writes a lot on nutrition and vast array of obstacles to cure embedded in nutritional deficiencies, toxicity, stress, sedentary lifestyle etc. Samuel Hahnemann over 200 hundred years ago was so much ahead of his time.

Through my journey into Homoeopathy, lead me to explore Functional Medicine and I undertook my training at the prestigious Institute of Functional Medicine USA.

I learnt that Functional Medicine offers a powerful new operating system and clinical model for assessment, treatment and prevention of chronic diseases to replace the out dated and ineffective acute-care models carried forward from the 20th century.

I feel change must come quickly if we are to halt and reverse the epidemic of chronic diseases. That is why I feel food is the route to health, real, wholesome, fresh organic plant based food is the primary focus of my treatment. As Hippocrates said “let food be your medicine”.

Food and Nutrition “speaks to our genes” its not merely material pleasure. Eating well and healthy gives spectacular joy to life and contributes immensely to goodwill and happy companionship and about sharing with others. It is of great importance to the morale.

Food for the body is not enough. There must be food for the soul in form of prayer, meditation, yoga, breathing, doing good deeds, living a life of Love Truth & Compassion.

Functional Medicine embraces all the elements of the body, mind, emotion and spirit as these are all interconnected like an interwoven web.

That is why treating a symptom in isolation by suppressing with allopathic drugs leads to “hydra headed monster” proliferating a whole host of chronic diseases disrupting various inflammatory pathways, affecting gut micro biome, intestinal permeability, allergies and intolerances etc.
